The Ocean Shores Golf Course opened in 1961. Five years later actor and singer Pat Boone hosted the first Celebrity Golf Classic at Ocean Shores, featuring big names like Clint Eastwood, Joe Namath and Fred MacMurray. A few years later the course became a regular stop for the Ladies PGA tour, and in the coming years would host two other regional pro tournaments. (Clayton Franke / The Daily World)
