Miller Jr. High football goes undefeated; Grays Harbor wrestling hosts challenge matches

Miller football has undefeated season

The Miller Junior High School football team completed an undefeated season on Thursday with a 40-0 win over Hoquiam at Stewart Field.

Miller finished off an impressive 6-0 season without giving up a point, outscoring its opponents 193-0.

GHC hosts Wrestling Challenge today

The Grays Harbor College men’s wrestling program will hold a wrestling challenge match finals at 7 p.m. tonight at the Grays Harbor College gym.

Winners of the matches will determine the initial varsity lineup heading into this weekend’s season-opening competition at Lassen College in Susanville, Calif.

The Chokers are returning nine national qualifiers from last season’s top-10 team and will have scheduled dual matches against Lassen, Sierra, Sacramento City College and Simpson University this season.

Four-star LB commits to Huskies

Linebacker Joshua Calvert committed to Washington on Monday.

A four-star prospect out of Oaks Christian in Westlake Village, Calif, Calvert chose the Huskies over offers fromMichigan State, UCLA, Arizona State and USC, among others. Calvert’s brother, Bo Calvert, is a freshman linebackerat UCLA.

Calvert (6-3, 220) is considered by 247Sports.com to be the No. 20 inside linebacker in the country and the No. 46player in California.

He is the 18th known commit in UW’s 2019 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 21 nationally and No. 2 in the Pac-12 by 247Sports.com. Oregon’s class is ranked first in the conference and fourth nationally.
