    The 16U Lady Bulldogs, an all-harbor team based in Montesano, traveled to the USSSA World Series in southern California Aug. 1-6. They took second place in the 16/18 HS Open division, beating out multiple competitive select teams from metropolitan areas. The team is comprised of players from four area high schools: Montesano (Matti Ekerson, Katie Granstrom, Lindsay Pace, Abi Parkin, Julia Poler and Peyton Poler); Elma (Molly Johnston, Quin Mikel, Kassedy Olson and Kali Rambo); Hoquiam (ReyLynn Dunn); and Forks (Rian Peters). Coaches are Steve Poler, Mark Johnston and Sara Badgley.
