Vickie Mae (Sexton) Paul was born May 19, 1949, in Everett, Washington and went to join her God and her family on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

Vickie was preceded in death by her father William Sexton Jr., mother Lila Mae Sexton of Everett, her sister Nancy Kelly of Olympia; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Etta and Bill Paul of Everett.

Surviving relatives include her loving husband and best friend of 49 years, Harry of the family home in Aberdeen; daughter Casey Paul, stepdaughters Whitney and Russ Paul-Jones of Duvall and Stephanie and Gordon Barnes of Woodinville; grandson, Jakob Paul (22), who Vickie and Harry raised since he was five years old, of the family home and granddaughter, Erron Paul of Centralia, plus numerous grandchildren; and her brother, William Sexton III and sister-in-law, Maureen Sexton of Neenah, Wisconsin.

Vickie met Harry at the Snohomish County PUD in 1969 and after a whirlwind romance blossomed, they were married in June of 1973. Employees of the PUD said it would not last, but it did, for 49 years and still going strong.

From 1974 to 1978, Vickie and Harry lived in Corvallis, then on the Twin Harbors since 1978, in Raymond from 1978 to 1985 and in Aberdeen since 1985, but still considered Everett as their home.

Vickie attended view Ridge Elementary School in Everett, South Jr. High School, and was a proud graduate of Everett High, Class of 1967. She was very active in high school and was a member of the Sea Gals, the Everett High Women’s Marching Drill Team.

Vickie and Harry were very active in Marriage Encounter with the Mt. Rainier Encounter and were the Executive Couple for four years, presenting many weekends for couples trying to enhance their marriage.

Vickie was a 30-year employee of Weyerhaeuser and retired from Weyco. She loved to travel with her husband. Their trips included excursions to Bermuda, Disney World (numerous times), the US East Coast, and cruising through the Panama Canal. However, she especially loved Hawaii. Her favorite was Kauai and in fact, she and Harry were scheduled to fly to Kauai in May for a month in the Islands.

Vickie was a loving, devoted wife, a husband’s best friend, a fantastic mother, involved in her community, coached T-Ball, was the Chaplain of Aberdeen Elks Lodge 593, past president of the Ladies of the Elks for two years and was on the St. Mary’s Parish Council for over six years and a regular church volunteer. Her big love was college football, especially her Huskies. She and Harry were 32-year season ticket holders, “Go Dawgs”, and the fun of “March Madness.” She would yell at the TV for what she perceived as bad calls against her team.

I will miss my best friend all the days of my life. I love her more today than yesterday and will love her more tomorrow than today. I will love her until the “Twelfth of Never.”
