Thomas Ross Bougher Sr. of Hoquiam died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, in Vancouver.

Thomas Ross Bougher Sr. of Hoquiam died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington. He was 72.

Tom was born Dec. 31, 1948, in Los Angeles, California to John and Virginia (Wyatt) Bougher. He was raised in Glendora, California and graduated from Glendora High School in 1966. He continued his education at Pepperdine University and earned his MBA in 1976.

Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1975. He received two commendations for ground safety; DaNang, RVN 1970-1971.

In 1972, he married Kathleen M. Barrett in West Covina, California. They later divorced.

Tom had been working for the Washington State Department of Veteran’s Affairs as a field coordinator at Veteran’s Conservation Corps since 2009. He had also worked as a metal fabricator for Comm-Fab, Inc. for 22 years.

He was involved in several clubs including DAV, VFW, Surfrider Foundation, NRA, Elks Lodge; Veteran’s for Peace and Vietnam Veterans of America. Tom enjoyed reading books, watching movies, veteran affairs and the ocean. He loved his dog Hersey. They were always together.

Tom is survived by his son Thomas Ross Bougher Jr. of Lake Elsinore, California, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
