Steven Walter Pierce, 53, of Aberdeen, Washington passed away peacefully on Jan. 23, 2023, in Elma.

Steven Walter Pierce, 53, of Aberdeen, Washington passed away peacefully on Jan. 23, 2023, in Elma, Washington. Steven was born on July 16, 1969, to John and Anita (Bourgault) Pierce in Aberdeen, Washington.

Steven attended Saint Mary’s Catholic School in Aberdeen, Washington through the 8th grade. He later graduated from Hoquiam High School in the class of 1987. During his high school years he enjoyed playing baseball not only for the Grizzlies, but he also played Legion Ball and Babe Ruth. He was an outstanding player who got selected for the All-Star Team each year he played. He also played football his freshman year of high school.

Steven worked at Simpson Timber Company (Olympic Panel), Hardel Mutual Plywood Corporation and most recently Freres Lumber Company as a quality control supervisor.

Steven loved to fish the Wynoochee River and Elma Pond with his dad. He loved to hunt off his deer stand in his backyard, and road hunting with friends and family.

Steven is survived by his parents, John and Anita Pierce of Elma, Washington, daughter Talia (Dawson) Snodgrass, both of Chehalis, Washington; sister Christina Pierce (Bowers) of Aberdeen, Washington, niece Natasha (Bo) Chapin of Cosmopolis, Washington and great-niece Meela Chapin of Cosmopolis, Washington. Survivors also include many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Christina Landskov (Bourgault).

A graveside service will be held on Feb. 8, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Elma, Washington at 1 p.m.

A celebration of life will be held on Feb. 10, 2023, at Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Chehalis, Washington at 5 p.m.
