Shirley June (Strong) Doll passed away on November 21, 2020, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital with her daughter, Deborah, by her side.

Shirley was born on May 19, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, to William Ray and Mildred Lucille (Logan) Strong. Later her parents and her moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where her sisters Beverly, Marilyn and Ginger were born. The family then moved to Aberdeen, Washington, in 1945 where Shirley’s brothers, Kenneth and Michael Solberg. and her sister, Pamela Solberg, were born.

Shirley graduated from Weatherwax High School in June of 1952. Shirley June Strong married Rodger E. Doll on March 15, 1952, prior to her graduation. Rodger and Shirley were married for 63 years until he passed away June of 2015.

Shirley’s greatest joy in life were her children, Rodger (Rod), Deborah (Debbi), Timothy (Tim) and Gary. Closest to her heart were her seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. All of her grandchildren and their friends always referred to Shirley as “Grandma Honey” which was started by her first grandchild, John, when he was a little boy because he always heard his grampa call Shirley “Honey.”

Shirley is survived by her children, son, Rodger F. Doll of Cosmopolis; daughter, Deborah Klinglhoffer (Kevin Gallanger) of Lilliwaup; three very special women she still considered daughters, Pamela Pratt (Del) of Cosmopolis, Tina Nilsson (Gus) of Cosmopolis, Cheryl August of Hoquiam; grandchildren, John Doll (Natalie) of Cosmopolis, Michael Doll (Meca) of Central Park, Robby Doll of Central Park, Ashley Dimler (Dillon) of Montesano, Kassandra Doll (Zack Smith) of Artic, Stephany Doll (Matt Hurd) of Central Park and Derek August Doll (Janessa Shumate) of Aberdeen; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Marilyn Hvidsten (Howard) of Aberdeen, Michael Solberg (Vickie) of Central Park, Kenneth Solberg of Muscatine, Iowa, Pamela Myers (Mick) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Ginger Ringle (Chuck) Muldrow, Oklahoma, brother-in-law Richard (Dick) Hall of Aberdeen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, William Strong and Mildred Lucille Solberg, sisters Beverly Hall and Delores Strong, sons Gary Doll and Timothy Doll and by the love of her life, Rodger Doll, her beloved husband.

A burial and Celebration of Life for both Shirley and her son Timothy Doll, who passed away in March 2020, will be done together at a later date. Arrangements handled by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.
