Sally Anne Lenss, a resident of Aberdeen and Hoquiam for nearly her entire life, passed away on Sept. 8, 2022, at the age of 88. Sally’s devoted caregiver, Poppy Cogburn, was at her side when she died after a prolonged period of declining health.

Sally graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1951 and following graduation bravely left her home and moved to San Francisco where she attended The Dental Nurses Training School.

Sally returned to Aberdeen where she started her career and raised her children, Paul Watson of Lacey, Washington; Gary Lenss of Surprise, Arizona; and Stephanie Daley-Watson of Seattle, Washington.

Sally found purpose in her work and had a long, interesting career, first working for the founders of Cox Cable in the early 1960s helping the roll-out of cable in the Grays Harbor area.

Next, she worked with several doctors and dentists, before spending over 30 years administering Dr. Howard W. Bryant’s medical practice in Hoquiam.

Sally was a devoted mother, employee, animal lover and lifelong member of Aberdeen’s First Christian Church.

Sally had a delightful sense of humor and was a voracious reader, learner and supporter of the Aberdeen Public Library and Goodwill.

Sally is survived by her three children, their spouses and six grandchildren; Kristina Stuck of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Alexis DeJong of Highland Ranch, Colorado; Ashely Downes of Manhattan, New York; Tyler Downes of Sacramento, California; Maxfield Daley-Watson of Wilmington, Virginia; and Flannery Daley-Watson of Claremont, California; her sister Dixie Sydia of Kamloops, B.C., and three nephews: Dyke, Dana and Dusty Anderson.

Sally will join family members who passed before her at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen.
