Ronald Scott Sackrider passed away on Friday, January 19th, 2024. Ronald, known as “Scooter” or Scott by his friends and family, was born on December 30th, 1962 to Ronald Floyd Sackrider and Carol Ann Jaren in Aberdeen, Washington. Scott was raised in Brady, moved to Elma, and finally settled in Olympia for the last 30 years.

Scott served in the US Naval Reserve from 1983-1984. When he returned from the Reserves, Scott worked at Whiteside Mortuary as an apprentice Funeral Director and Embalmer. After his time at Whiteside, he worked as a carpenter at Norse Furniture and Interior Wood Products. Scott had an interest in Skydiving, Aircraft Model building and flying, building and designing furniture, creating things from scratch, and finding solutions to problems. Scott loved his family and children unconditionally and had a big heart. His daughter Rebecca says “he’s the smartest man she’s ever known.”

Scott was preceded in death by his sister Anne Thompson. He is survived by his parents Ronald Floyd Sackrider of Brady, Washington, and Carol Ann Jaren of Olympia, Washington; daughters Rachelle Miller of Mesa, Arizona and Rebecca Sackrider of Olympia, Washington; sisters Susan Aukerman of Olympia, Washington, and Aliclia Sackrider-Winkelman of Montesano, Washington; and 3 grandchildren.
