Robert W. Henry (“the Craz”), 76, passed away at his home in St. Petersburg, Florida on July 15, 2023.

Robert W. Henry (“the Craz”), 76, passed away at his home in St. Petersburg, Florida on July 15, 2023. He was born Oct. 28, 1947, in Aberdeen, Washington to William F. Henry and Laura I. (Johnson) Henry.

He graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1965, from Grays Harbor College in 1967 and from Wayne State in Nebraska in 1972. He loved growing up in Aberdeen playing school sports, Little League and Slo-Pitch. Robert was also a good golfer playing premier courses all around the county with his brother Bill. He had a quick wit, was an expert at Sudoku and had an extensive collection of stamps and coins.

He proudly served in the Marine Corps from 1968-1969 and spent 13 months in Vietnam with his “brothers” in Lima 3/5. Agent Orange related issues contributed to his death. He received an Honorable Discharge with Honors with 11 ribbons and 7 medals. His Lima 3/5 brothers and their reunions were a very important part of his life.

Robert was cremated and his ashes scattered in his beloved Boca Ciega Bay along with ashes of his dog, Kenai, who was named after the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska where he spent many great summers fishing, digging clams and hosting friends around the fire pit. He had many friends from his Aberdeen school days, fraternity days in Nebraska and his service in the Marine Corps.

He is survived by his sister, Diane Roehrich (husband Hank), nephew Jim Sanderson (wife Mary and Joe, Katie and Chris) and niece Marie Roehrich (husband Chris Garrison and son Aki), and his former wife Tina Henry. He was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew Tom Roehrich and his brother Bill Henry. He will be truly missed.
