Ramona Jane Halbrook, 89, a resident of Aberdeen and former Psychiatrist for Lake Washington School District, passed away on December 15, 2023 at her home in Aberdeen.

Ramona Jane Halbrook, 89, a resident of Aberdeen and former Psychiatrist for Lake Washington School District, passed away on December 15, 2023 at her home in Aberdeen.

Ramona was born on May 24, 1934 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Russell and Esther (Crosswait) Rose. She was raised in Jefferson, Missouri.

On May 7, 1960, she married Thomas Robert Halbrook in San Francisco, California. He passed away on July 17, 2016 in Seattle, Washington.

She moved to Columbia, Missouri where she attended Missouri State University. She then moved to Michigan where she received her Masters of Psychiatry and a Bachelor’s in Education from University of Michigan. They moved to Seattle in 1963 and then to Redmond, Washington from 1971 to 1980. They then went to Berkeley, California before coming to Aberdeen.

Ramona worked as a school psychologist for the Lake Washington School District from 1973 to 1980. She then had a private practice.

Ramona was an avid reader and was a member of her local neighborhood book club. She was fond of her cats and enjoyed cooking.

Ramona is survived by her two sons: Robert (Chrissy) Halbrook of Maple Falls, Washington and David (Sally) Halbrook of Lake Forest Park, Washington; and two grandchildren: Michael Halbrook and Bobby Cavazos.

Ramona was inurned with her husband Thomas Halbrook in a private family service at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
