Patricia ‘Patti’ Berne (McMahon) Ostenson

Patricia “Patti” Berne (McMahon) Ostenson was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Patricia “Patti” Berne (McMahon) Ostenson was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She gained her wings and went home to her Lord and savior on Oct. 29, 2021, at the age of 76.

She was born in Aberdeen, Washington on June 22, 1945, to Franklin J. and June R. (Sleasman) McMahon and married the love of her life, Ronald “Ron” Ostenson on May 5, 1972.

She loved visiting with her cousins in Pacific Beach and Silverdale and spent many days walking the beach with sand between her toes and a smile on her face. In Silverdale, she was able to help groom her Uncle Kenneth’s thoroughbred horses and loved watching them run at Longacres Racetrack.

After graduating from J.M. Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen, Patti began a lifetime of adventure. She travelled as much as she could. She hopped a train after graduation, headed east, and stopped in Chicago to visit with her dad’s family. She developed a true love of people and new places. Then, she met Ron, and her life was full.

Reading was very important to Patti and she loved taking part in her book clubs, tending to her Little Free Library and even donating new books to kids in her local school. She also enjoyed camping, especially at Sequim and Westport, going for rides in the woods and walks on the beach and loved spending time in her kitchen. Some of her fondest memories were making holiday dinners for her family and friends as well as cooking breakfast for friends and family on opening day of hunting and fishing seasons at her home in Grisdale. Patti also enjoyed collecting eagles and watching NASCAR, the Mariners and her Seahawks every chance she had. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her nine grandkids and four great-grandkids who were truly the joy of her life.

Patti was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children: Shawn, Kelly, Kevin and Angela; her grandchildren: Krystal, Kyla, Joshua, Keegan, Hunter, Gabbi, Laura, Ryan and Audrey; her great-grandchildren: Cohen, Rylan, Amelia and Salem and her siblings: Frank (Nancy), Kathleen, and Peggy (Tom.)

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. at the Montesano Church of God, 317 E Spruce Ave.
