Mike “Grandpa” Timmons, 93, passed through the gates of Heaven Thursday, April 8.

Mike “Grandpa” Timmons, 93, passed through the gates of Heaven on Thursday, April 8, to be with his wife Jean and daughter Penny.

Mike was raised in Greenwich Village, New York City. As a teenager he joined the Navy and served in China. He had many travels and always had stories and jokes to tell.

After he met and married the love of his life, Jean, after living in California for some years, he moved his family to Aberdeen where he worked as a bartender, before opening his own business, the Book Carnival.

He was a champion pool player who played for Mac’s for several years — came in first or second almost every year. He was a board member of the 40&8 and a member of VFW.

Mike was young at heart and said, “You’re as young as you feel. “

He is survived by his daughters Terry (Ray) Warwick and Debbie Timmons; grandchildren: Jeff Hyde, Sarah (Hyde) Bell, Jenny Arronson, Jordan Timmons, Rachelle Murray, Chelsea Beers, Katie Pierog, Amy and Meg Fraizer; great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and longtime companion Camilla Weaver.

There will be a graveside service.
