Michelle Marie Schlegel

April 11, 1967 - Aug. 11, 2016

In loving memory of Michelle Marie Schlegel, who passed away unexpectedly Aug. 11, 2016. Born in Aberdeen, Wash., to Samuel Ray and Barbara Ann Schlegel on April 11, 1967.

Michelle spent her childhood among the cranberries and ocean beaches. A standout athlete and well-loved classmate, she graduated from Ocosta High School, receiving the Class Heart award. After high school, she quenched her desire for adventure by attending and graduating from the Air Academy in Vancouver, WA. She had a long career flying the friendly skies with the airlines before settling in Utah to start a new venture of selling real estate. Michelle returned to her hometown of Grayland, Wash., in 2011 where she was a very loving in=home care provider, dedicated volunteer firefighter and EMT.

Michelle will be remembered for her beautiful smile, quick wit and amazing sense of humor. She loved animals, especially her constant companion Sophie, going to the beach and most recently kayaking the local rivers.

She is survived by her parents, Sam and Barb Schlegel, her brother and sister in law, Brian and Jennie Schlegel, her six nieces, Rebecca, Hanna, Keara, MaryElla, Samantha, and Jolissa Schlegel, her god-parents, Cheryl Persson and Ted Jorstad and her boyfriend Todd Gayden.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ocosta Rec. Hall, on Saturday Aug. 27, 2016, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pacific County Fire District No. 5, P.O. Box 602, Tokeland, WA 98590.
