Mary Ann Delaurenti Isaacson

Mary Ann Delaurenti Isaacson gracefully passed away on March 4, 2024, in Olympia, Washington after a long illness with dementia.

She was born in Portland, Oregon April 9, 1951, to Vico L. Delaurenti and Angeline M. (‘Kiki’) Girias Delaurenti.

In 1973, she earned her teaching degree at Oregon State University where she was affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta sorority. After serving as a Panhellenic adviser for many years after college, she taught Home Economics at her alma mater Beaverton High School, then taught mathematics at River Ridge High School in Olympia and retired in 2006. Mary treasured her beautiful Mediterranean roots. The Delaurentis were from Ciconio, Italy and the Giriases were from the Island of Chios, Greece. Through her gourmet cooking, she showcased the Italian and Greek cultures. Additionally, she enjoyed golfing and traveling with family and friends. Her interests were varied: interior design, a love of the holidays, special craft projects and gardening. She had an impeccable taste in clothing and was a gracious hostess.

In July of 1997, she married Charlie Isaacson at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Portland and moved to Olympia. Their marriage was blessed by Father Michael Ryan at St. Michael Church.

She is survived by her husband Charlie Isaacson and her four stepsons and families: John (Megan), Tim (Stevie), David, Scott (Stephanie), five grandchildren Eli, Isabel, Danielle, Zoey and Brooklyn. Additional survivors include her sister-in-law Wendy Torgeson, nephew Nick, great-nephew Peter, cousins Michael Delaurenti, Charles Delaurenti, Louise George, Gloria Duffey and Elaine Cooper.
