Marjorie A. Dahlstrom passed away peacefully on Aug. 11, 2023.

Marjorie A. Dahlstrom passed away peacefully on Aug. 11, 2023. Marjorie was born to Carl and Bertha (Boggs) Larson in Portland, Oregon on April 3, 1929.

As a child Marjorie and her family lived on a houseboat on the Columbia River. Marjorie remembered being transported by boat to her school, picking berries in the fields and delivering the newspaper with her brother Floyd.

Marjorie and her family moved to Grays Harbor in 1941. She graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1947. Marjorie married Carl Dahlstrom on Nov. 19, 1947. In her teens and early 20s Marjorie worked as a beautician, a kitchen aide at Saint Joseph Hospital and an usherette at 7th St. Theatre.

Carl and Marjorie resided in Central Park for 65 years raising their family and building the family business — Carl Dahlstrom Construction. Marjorie was the bookkeeper for the family business and became the design expert picking out fixtures, flooring, tile and paint colors for many Central Park homes.

When her children were young Marjorie was very active in Central Park School PTA, Boy Scouts and Campfire Girls. She received an award for her outstanding service to the youth of the community.

Later on, Marjorie was involved in March of Dimes fundraising, TOPS, and Golden Agers of Cosmopolis. Marjorie was an avid gardener and was always canning her produce and sharing her bounty with others.

Marjorie joined the YMCA and attended swim fitness classes for many years. The “Swim Gals” became good friends. They worked together to raise funds and donations for Camp Bishop.

Marjorie and Carl loved to clam dig and travel about the country in their RV in their younger years. Many trips were to Montana to see family.

A special thank you to Channel Point Village for providing a safe environment, fun activities and friendship to Marjorie. Also thank you to South Sound Puget Hospice for providing comfort and compassion in our Mother’s last hours.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Bertha Larson, stepfather Ed Johnson, stepbrother Ron Johnson (Gayleen), sister Sharon Tolen, sister Meri Lou Johnson, brother Floyd Larson (Maggie) and son Donn Dahlstrom. Marjorie is survived by her sister Margaret Sue Johnson, Lake Forest Park; children Paul Dahlstrom (Cathy), Shelton; Gary Dahlstrom (Deb) Salem, Oregon; Celia Wolfenbarger (Bill) Hoquiam; Nancy Barry (Wally) Aberdeen, and daughter-in-law Judy Dahlstrom, Aberdeen.

Marjorie is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. There will be a private family burial.

Marjorie had a kind heart and was always thinking of ways to make someone else’s life a little brighter. Many people whose lives she touched are going to miss her.
