Marilyn Jane Wiggins (1938-2024) passed away on February 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Marilyn Jane Wiggins (1938-2024) passed away on February 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. A proud graduate of the University of Minnesota and member of Lambda Delta Phi, Marilyn met her husband, Bob Wiggins, there. Over their 63 years of marriage, they cherished their two children Rob (Donna) Wiggins and Kristi (Frank) Palermo. Marilyn was a dedicated and adored Mimi to her five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Marilyn’s kindness and deep commitment to her family and friends were always evident. Her creativity was a hallmark of her life, seen in her decadent recipes, her talent for crossword puzzles, the costumes she lovingly crafted for her children, author of her own stories and the delightful tea parties she hosted for her grandchildren. She was known for her sharp wit and her love of learning, which she passed on through her passion for books and her strong faith.

Marilyn was deeply involved in the communities she lived in, from St. Paul, Minnesota, to Coos Bay and North Bend Oregon, Plymouth North Carolina, Columbus, Mississippi, where she joined the Women’s Charity League, to Jacksonville North Carolina, where she was seen reading and being a reading tutor to many students as a volunteer in the local schools, to New Bern, North Carolina, where she served as a Children’s Librarian. As a long-time resident in Aberdeen, Washington, Marilyn was a life member in the Aberdeen Book Review Club, a volunteer at St. Mary Catholic Church and a member of PEO. Marilyn will be remembered for her lifelong dedication to spreading the joy of reading and learning.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles, and Evelyn V. Easbey as well as her brother, Chuck Easbey, and her sister Virginia E. Erich.

A celebration of Marilyn’s life is being planned and will be announced later.
