She was born June 19, 1928, in Menlo, Washington and graduated from Willapa Valley High School. In 1946, she married Gordon Walker. She had three children and worked at Bridges Inn and Safeway in Raymond.

Later she divorced, then married Harry Taylor and had two more children.

She managed the Raymond Elks and Legion. After her children graduated, she spent 12 years going to Alaska doing cannery work in Dutch Harbor, Kodiak and Dillingham with Harry. She was very proud of her Swiss heritage and went on many trips with the “Jolly Swiss” group and close friend Rosemary Ramsell to Switzerland, Norway, Australia, Morocco, South Africa, Spain and Portugal.

Her five children are Greg Walker of Cascade, Idaho; Gary Walker (deceased); Gayle Walker Russell of South Bend, Washington; Geri Taylor (Julian) of Kennewick, Washington; and Gene Taylor of Kingston, Washington. She has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to her dear friend and neighbor, Bobbie Field. A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the Raymond Elks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LP Swiss Society and Pacific County Historical Society.
