Louis Ray Baker, 90, of Aberdeen, Washington, passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2024, at his home with his wife of almost 69 years by his side.

Louis Ray Baker, 90, of Aberdeen, Washington, passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2024, at his home with his wife of almost 69 years by his side.

Louis was born in Salem, Oregon on July 14th, 1933, to Darrel and Gertrude (Olson) Baker. His family moved to Hoquiam in 1943.

The day after Christmas in 1954, Louis met Sonya Ramona Arndt. Just shy of 5 months later on May 20th, 1955, Louis married Sonya and went on to raise 3 children together.

In 1956, he started working for Earley Tire Factory as a Tire Serviceman. He spent 55 years with Earley Tire working in the Truck Shop, keeping tires organized for many of the local logging trucks like Pat Rabey Trucking and more. Louis officially retired in 2011, but the shop was his home away from home. He continued to visit the crew just about every week at the shop for years after his retirement, enjoying a cup of coffee and good company with his Earley Tire Family.

Louis is survived by his loving wife, Sonya, son Michael (Rhonda) Baker of Anderson, California; daughter Di’Anna (Richard) Murchy of Aberdeen, brother Darrell Baker (Marlene) of Redding, California; eight grandchildren: Kevin Nixon of Aberdeen; Lance (Marreah) Malone of Cosmopolis; Kaylee Malone of Lexington, Kentucky; Cavin Park of Hoquiam; Mathew (Paige) Park of Aberdeen; Aleah Park of Aberdeen; Jennifer (Matthew) Peterson of Anderson; California and Sarah (Raul) Davis of Anderson, California and 12 loving great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrel and Gertrude Baker, sisters Ida Mae Dawson, Myrtle Keizur, and Anna May Chadwick, son David Baker, and granddaughter Kimberly Baker.

At Louis’s request, there will be no service.
