Leland Conn Wilson

Leland Conn Wilson, a resident of Aberdeen at Ocean Beach Hospital, Ilwaco, Washington, Nov. 28, 2021.

Leland Conn Wilson, 54, a resident of Aberdeen and an electrical contractor on the Harbor for several years, died unexpectedly and suddenly of a heart attack at Ocean Beach Hospital, Ilwaco, Washington, Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021. He was born in Spokane, Washington, Jan. 9, 1967, the son of Terence D. and Wyoma (Shirley) Wilson.

His father was an official of the Border Patrol, which took them to the Canadian border areas as well as into Southern California, Arizona, Texas and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Leland attended schools in many of those areas and was a 1985 graduate of Valhalla High School, San Diego, California. He attended San Diego State University and Cuyamaca Community College in San Diego. He worked as an electrician for a general contractor in San Diego while attending school.

He met his future wife, Michelle L. Tipton, in California. They were married in Oroville, Washington on May 29, 1993. They came to Hoquiam in 1994 and moved to their current Aberdeen residence two years later.

Leland and Michelle formed Wilson Electrical Enterprises, Inc.; an electrical contracting business in 2005. Leland received an Electrical Administrator’s License that same year. He was also a licensed Journeyman electrician.

He had been a Cub Scout as a boy and as a grown man served as a Cub Master in Hoquiam. For several years he was a leader of the AWANA children’s program. He was active at Harbor City Church and had gone on a mission trip to Mexico this last August with his church and his two sons. He had also been a member of the Aberdeen Eagles.

Leland’s life was “work” going beyond the normal day’s hours to satisfy the job and many times donating his time and materials to area churches, the local Christian TV Station and charitable projects. He held an advanced degree in Biblical Studies through Faith Bible Institute. He enjoyed being a video gamer to have more in common with his children and then for the fun he found in it.

His legacy is the Christian faith and Bible knowledge he shared with his wife and children.

Besides his wife, Michelle, Leland is survived by two teen-age sons, Brett and Caleb Wilson, and a teen-age daughter, Faith Wilson, all at the family home; his parents: Terence and Wyoma Wilson, Casper, Wyoming; a brother: Jeremy (Tammie) Wilson, La Mesa, California; and two sisters: Rachael (David) Hovland, Casper, Wyoming and Joanna (Stanley) Donn, San Diego, California. Leland was preceded in death by two sons, Zachariah in 2001 and Joel in 2003; and a brother Troy Wilson in 1974.

A celebration of life for Leland will be held Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Harbor City Church, Aberdeen. Pastor Doug Cotton will officiate. Inurnment will take place later in the Molson Cemetery, Molson, Washington.
