Lauri Ann LaRocque, lifetime Aberdeen resident, passed from this life on Aug. 9, 2022.

Lauri Ann LaRocque, lifetime Aberdeen resident, was born Aug. 7, 1964, and passed from this life at the family home in the Wishkah Valley on Aug. 9, 2022. She was 58.

The daughter of Norman and Lucille Sermonti, she married Don LaRocque Jr. in 1982, and they had a son, Jeffrey.

When Lauri was 15, her brother Tony was born and she became part sister, part mother to him. She and Don were scout leaders in Jeff and Tony’s Boy Scout troops for several years. She also enjoyed watching Jeff, and now, Ethan play Little League baseball, and Maycie’s junior cheerleading performances.

Lauri was the glue of the family and took care of loved ones. She lived a very happy life around her family and grandchildren, spending great hours raising, teaching and playing with them — as well as going to the pumpkin patch and enjoying Christmastime. She enjoyed time with her husband Don, whether it was fishing, berry picking or working on their Wishkah property. She loved going clam digging with her family and was an expert at it. She was also very knowledgeable in gardening and bird identification.

Lauri attended Aberdeen schools. She managed LaVogue’s Department Store in Hoquiam for many years. Lauri loved all animals and had many beloved dogs and cats during her lifetime.

Lauri had many close friends and was a positive impact on many lives. Above all, she was caring, strong and loving, from a very early age. She is survived by her husband Donald Jr. of Wishkah; son Jeffrey and Theresa Damaske of Aberdeen; brother, Anthony “Tony” Sermonti of Olympia; grandchildren: Ethan, Maycie, Lexi and Kodi; and the LaRocque and Carson families.

Lauri was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Lucille, sister Cathy, and brothers Stan and Marty Sermonti.
