Laura “Laurie” Lee Andrews

It is with great sadness that the family of Laura (Laurie) Lee Andrews announces her passing after a brief illness, on Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, at 68 years old. Laurie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, James (Jim) Bointon Andrews and their children, Andrea and Jade (Stacie) and her step-daughter Jeri (Amy). Laurie will also be fondly remembered by her mother, Beverly Jean Harris and her granddaughter, Adelynn JoLee. Laurie was predeceased by her father, Wilfred (Bill) Dean Harris.

Born in Bremerton, and a lifelong Grays Harbor resident, Laurie graduated from Moclips High School, where she was a cheerleader, in 1969 and attended a secretary program at Grays Harbor College. She spent 37 years in the accounting department and later as a production coordinator at ITT Rayonier starting in 1970 and retiring at the end of 2007.

An avid sports fan, Laurie loved watching Jim, Jade and others play sports where she was always the official score keeper and “team mom.” Over the last five years, her granddaughter, Addie Jo, was her greatest source of happiness.

Laurie was elected to the Board of Directors of the Montesano Community Center in 2015, where she could be found proudly volunteering in the kitchen most days over the past 10 years. She was the cornerstone of the center, helping ensure they were able to obtain their new location. She happily led the pinochle program at the Moose Lodge and then at the Community Center where she enjoyed the camaraderie of her close friends.

A small family service was held on Saturday, Oct. 17, at their family home with Pastor Marc Rice officiating. There will be an open celebration of Laurie’s life in June 2021 in Moclips at Chapel by the Sea and Ocean Crest.

Memorial donations in memory of Laurie can be made to Montesano Community Center.
