JoAnn Lee Norwil (Commers) passed away peacefully on Oct. 16, 2020, at the age of 82. She was born July 17, 1938, in Gig Harbor Washington to Ruben and Beatrice Simpson Commers.

She married William Norwil on March 12, 1966, who sadly passed away September of this year. They were married for 54 years.

JoAnn was a born-again Christian who was a great contributor to her church and provided hospice care to many people needing comfort support in Grays Harbor County. She also completed her HUD Program Training for HUD Multi-Family Housing Management receiving multiple recognition awards from the National Partnership Management Inc.

Most of all, she was a supportive housewife and loving mother.

She lived most of her life in Aberdeen, Washington then relocated to Port Orchard to receive Alzheimer’s disease care and to be closer to her children.

She enjoyed church and Bible study, reading, writing, gardening, singing, and giving the biggest hugs in the world.

JoAnn is survived by her three sons: Jamey Norwil (Robin) of Port Orchard, Jody Norwil (Karen) of Puyallup and Nick Norwil (Courtney) of Belfair. She is also survived by her niece Ona Lee Knox (Larson) of Spanaway, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
