Jimmy Allen Tegen, 62, former resident of Westport, Washington died on August 23, 2021 at his Alabama residence. Jimmy was born on February 17, 1959 and lived in Grays Harbor until 2008 when he moved to Hodges, Alabama. He attended Ocosta Jr/Sr High School and graduated in 1978. Jimmy worked hard his whole life and had several jobs throughout his career. He worked with his father, Charles, at the Chevron gas station until 1990 when it closed. A few years went by filling in with a couple short term jobs before becoming an employee with Lemay’s. He spent 10 years with Lemay’s doing cardboard and garbage routes. His last long term career was with Swift doing long haul truck driving for 16 years. He was a very dependable and successful driver to the company as he was one of the few drivers to drive over 1 million miles. He was recognized for his efforts and received awards for his dedication. He retired from trucking on July 31, 2021. His hobbies and interests included watching sports like football, basketball, and baseball. He also collected all kinds of sports memorabilia. One of his favorite pastimes was playing card games such as cribbage, hearts, and pinochle. Overall he enjoyed talking to people and helping others when they needed it. He is survived by his only child Heather Tegen, his brother David Tegen, four nieces and nephews Bobbi Jo, David Jr, Charlie, and Leora, cousins Larry Dhooghe and Lynn Dhooghe, and his uncle George “Hop” Dhooghe. There will be a celebration of life on Friday September 10, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam Washington for family and friends.
