Jack Lars Bratt, age 86, a longtime resident of Grays Harbor, died on Sept. 4, 2022, at his home in Aberdeen.

Jack Lars Bratt, age 86, a longtime resident of Grays Harbor, died on Sept. 4, 2022, at his home in Aberdeen. Jack was born on Feb. 8, 1936, in Aberdeen, Washington to Lars John and Lydia Bratt. Jack graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1954.

On Nov. 5, 1954, he and Wanda Bratt were married in Hoquiam. Jack and Wanda owned and operated Pryde Bros Sheet Metal from 1974 to 1995. He and Wanda enjoyed their summers at their cabin at Kenai, Alaska. They loved to go camping, fishing and hunting in the Pacific Northwest.

Jack was a member of the Pacific Northwest Steelheaders Association. He also enjoyed flying his 172 and 182 Cessnas. He was a member of the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association).

The surviving relatives include his son, Terry Lars (Marivic) Bratt of Las Vegas, Nevada; Pamela (Michael) Brist of Montesano and Gary (Cynthia) Bratt of Shelton, Washington; grandchildren, Christina O’Brien of Hoquiam and Katie Cohee of Idaho; sisters, Betty Marvin of Salem, Oregon and Aureta Rupert of Wenatchee, Washington and brothers Robert and Richard of Hoquiam, Washington.

He was preceded in death by wife Wanda, son John Bratt, and brother Kenneth Bratt. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam.

A private interment followed at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.
