Jack Duane Alstrom, 72, lifetime Aberdeen resident and former truck driver, died Saturday morning, July 15, 2023, at Fir Lane Care Center in Shelton, Washington.

Jack Duane Alstrom, 72, lifetime Aberdeen resident and former truck driver, died Saturday morning, July 15, 2023, at Fir Lane Care Center in Shelton, Washington.

Jack was born on May 23, 1951, in Aberdeen to Theodore and Olga (Blahut) Alstrom. He grew up in Aberdeen and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1970. He then worked on a farm on the Wynooche River until 1972. He then went to work in a warehouse and then started driving truck for Yaste Transportation Co. transporting shakes and shingles. Then he worked for NorPac in 1980 and that evolved into Trailer Service Co. and he retired in 2006.

Jack married Linda Jasper in Aberdeen on Nov. 23, 1972. They later divorced in 1987.

Jack enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, swimming in the Wynooche River and driving his Jeep. He also liked to play football and horseshoes.

Jack is survived by a son Scott (ReBecca) Alstrom of Kent, Washington; a daughter, Janelle Alstrom of Hoquiam; two brothers: Theodore “Ted” Alstrom of Belfair and Tim Alstrom of Aberdeen; a sister Brenda Reibel of Lake City, Washington; and three grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life for Jack on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home Chapel in Aberdeen, Washington. Arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
