Helen Siama Iskra, went to be with Jesus on July 10, 2017. She was born on March 24, 1920, in Gaddard, Alberta, to Matt and Emily (Porka) Kangas. Helen graduated from high school in Albany, Ore., in 1938.

On Nov. 24, 1940, she and Max Iskra were married in Hoquiam.

In 1960, Helen and Max moved to Alaska where they lived until he retired in 1980 and moved back to Axford Prairie. Helen moved to Cosmopolis in 2000 and lived with her daughter.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Jackie Carpenter of Cosmopolis; two grandchildren, Tiffanie Henderson and Trisha Lecomte and many great-grandchildren. Helen was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed.

A private interment will be at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.
