Hans Streich passed peacefully with his loved one by his side Aug. 8, 2018. He was 85 and a 40 year resident of Grayland, Wash. Hans was born Sept. 28, 1932, in Hamburg, Germany, to Max Martin and Else Marie Streich (Witt).

Hans’ growing years were during WWII losing his parents at a young age. Each of his siblings were taken into different families and into various parts of Germany and Austria. Hans was raised by his beloved and adoring Godparents. Many years passed before the siblings found and reunited to each other again. He received education at the University of Freiberg, Black Forest, Germany, with further studies in business in Munich. Hans immigrated to the United States in 1957 and loved all aspects of American life. He began a career in the travel and lodging industry while living in Detroit, Mich., and continued his career in the Northwest until retirement.

Hans had an avid love of nature, hiking, fishing, classical music, gardening and entertaining close friends and family. Travelling was his passion. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a warm charismatic personality, was a true gentleman, and was kind-hearted and courteous. He was loved by many and will be missed.

Hans is survived by his loving life partner Charles Sedivy of 50 years. He is also survived by two sisters, Liselotte Ruemmler and Hannelore Effinghausen (Wolfgang) and sisters-in-law Helga and Ursula Streich. Passing before him are five brothers, Reinhart, Max, Guenther, Joachim and Werner. He held dear numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He loved his family and was dearly loved in return.
