Gordon W. Saul

Gordon W. Saul died Feb. 4, 2022, of Alzheimer’s.

Gordon W. Saul, born Nov. 25, 1941, in Seattle, Washington to Melvin Saul and Lillian Schroder Saul, died Feb. 4, 2022, of Alzheimer’s.

He is survived by his wife Janine Saul, children: Laurie (Mike) Laughery, Brian (Debbie) Saul, Alicia Saul, Katie (Greg) DeLosSantos and Elisabeth (David) Westover, and stepchildren Tina (Ron) Rood and Terry Leber. Gordon’s extensive family also includes six siblings: Gary Saul (deceased), Melvin Saul Jr. (deceased), Gail (Gordy) Latimer, Roger Saul (deceased), Gilbert “Ray” Johnson (deceased) and Patti (Richard) Burke; 19 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews.

After serving four years in the Air Force, then obtaining a Masters Degree in School Administration, Gordon taught Computers, Math/Algebra and English to junior-senior high and college students for 45 years; 35 years were spent at Raymond High School. His love of students continued long after retiring in 2002 as he continued to volunteer in the Adult Basic Education classroom until 2016.

He is best known for playing chess, photography, fishing and loving Jesus.

A celebration of Gordon’s life is planned for 2 p.m. March 19, at Crossroads Church in Raymond. Live stream of his service will be available upon request.
