Donna Marie Dudley, age 74, a longtime resident of Hoquiam, died peacefully at her home on Jan. 12, 2022. Donna was born on Feb. 27, 1947, to Don and Grace (Valentine) Brumley. She was raised in Ocean City, Washington and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1965.

On April 2, 1966, she married the love of her life, James L Dudley. The couple lived in many areas from the Oregon Coast to the Hoh River finally settling on Burrows Road in Hoquiam in 1975, when she informed her husband she was NEVER moving again!

Donna got to be a stay- at- home wife and mother, which allowed her to be available to help in their trucking company, from picking up parts and doing book work, and making several trips to California in the old yellow Kenworth.

She loved being Gram to her four grandsons, often having them for the weekend. She attended their events from preschool to high school as well as the annual pumpkin patch and scouting out the perfect Christmas tree. She documented these events in very detailed scrapbooks. Donna also worked puzzles, crosswords and was an avid reader.

Surviving relatives include a daughter and her husband, Lisa and Kirk Anderson of Hoquiam, a son James P. Dudley (Lori Bisson) of Tacoma, grandsons: Kristopher Anderson (Christina Leid), Kampbell Anderson (Somalley Anderson), Mark Steiger and James K Dudley, great-granddaughters Kaisley and Kooper Anderson, her brother and sister- in- law Dick and Terry Brumley. Brothers and sisters-in-law include Vonlee McDougall, Darrell and Charlotte Williams, Michael and Sidney Dudley, Mark and Diane Dudley and Geraldine Dudley.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Steven Dudley and a sister-in-law Rose McDougall.

There will be a celebration of Donna’s life in May. Date and location to be determined.
