Dona Lee Miller Burruss, 89 years of age, and a longtime resident of Grays Harbor, died on July 14, 2023 at Pacific Care in Hoquiam. Dona had lived in Elma, the Wishkah Valley, and Cosmopolis, and had resided at Montesano Health and Rehab, suffering from dementia, and was later transferred to Pacific Care, until her passing.

Dona was born on Feb. 13, 1934 in Santa Monica, California to Charles and Fay Miller. She had one brother, Lloyd Wilkes.

Dona was married to Frank Burruss and they had a daughter, Juanita Edwards, and a granddaughter, Margie McGuire.

Together they co-owned City Center Service, Lube & Go, and Piston Service. Later, Dona owned and operated Wishkah Union 76.

Dona loved water and the sun, spending time with family and friends, boating, swimming, picnicking and dune buggying. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii.

In 1992, Dona was stricken with a rare virus, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, and was hospitalized for 7 months.

Dona was a loved member of the Burruss-Allen family and will be missed. For many years, she was a member of the Wishkah Friends luncheon club and a former member of Wishkah Homemakers.

Because Dona loved all animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PAWS of Aberdeen or the Humane Society.
