Marianne Miller, Elma, 80, died Friday, August 11, 2023 at Providence St. Peter Hospital, Olympia.

Donald Walkowski

Donald “Don” Lee Walkowski, long time resident of the Ocosta “Aberdeen” area, and former boiler engineer passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Providence St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

Private family services are being scheduled. A full obituary will be published in the coming weeks. Arrangements are by Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.

Samuel Thomas

Samuel Thomas, 77, Montesano, died at the family home Saturday, August 12, 2023. Burial arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary.

George Ficele

A service for George E. Ficele, who died June 30, 2023, will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen.

The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m.

Sidney Joseph Strong, III

Sidney Joseph Strong, III, 76, a resident of Montesano, died on July 29, 2023, at Tacoma General Hospital.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1971 as a canine military policeman. Upon his discharge he was in the Hoquiam Police Department from 1972 to 1979, retiring as a Lieutenant. He later worked as a security director for the Ocean Shores Inn and at Weyerhaeuser from 1984 to his retirement in 2005.

A memorial service will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on August 20, 2023, at the Montesano Moose Lodge. Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
