Christine (Greninger) Vizena

Christine (Greninger) Vizena, 62, lost her battle with cancer on Sept. 29, 2020.

Christine (Greninger) Vizena, 62, lost her battle with cancer on Sept. 29, 2020. She was such a fighter, but knew when to surrender and be with her loved ones that preceded her. She went quietly holding the hands of her daughters and husband. Our love and prayers go out to her family and loved ones. Christy will be missed by so many in so many ways. Her love she shared with all of us will forever live in our hearts.

Christy was born on Feb. 25, 1958, born to Mildred and Robert Greninger whom preceded her in death along with her baby sister Velvadeen and brother Mark Greninger. She is survived by her husband Jim Vizena; daughters Shannon Daniel (and husband Brandon) of McCleary and Andee Vizena of Olympia; three grandchildren: Baylee, Benjamin and Emmett. She devoted her heart to these children whom she loved so dearly. Christy has three brothers: Bob, Harley and Kenny Greninger, four sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

Christy lived most of her life in Grays Harbor. She married her soul mate, Jim Vizena, in 1978. They settled in a beautiful cabin on the river. With her husband of 42 years, they enjoyed nature, wildlife, horses and getting to the ocean beaches. A good part of her life was devoted to raising two beautiful daughters and being a stay-at-home mom to mentor, cherish and nurture her children. Her jobs included working as a CNA and physical therapy technician, as she always focused her life to helping others.

Christy is a woman of faith and is now with her loved ones whom she missed so dearly and is in the precious hands of our dear Lord. Christy led a life as a Godly woman. She lived life to the fullest and will be missed by so many. She worked so hard at everything she did and she cared so deeply for everyone. She was kind, loving, caring and faithful as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Christy demonstrated a life of love, faith and joy. She will be forever in all of our hearts.

Thank you all for the love and kindness that you have shared along this journey. Our hearts are broken for this loss, but Christy is now in the hands of our dear lord. Continue to keep her family in your prayers.

Graveside services were held for Christy on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Wynoochee Cemetery in Montesano, Washington.
