Chieko Mack

Chieko Mack passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023. Chieko was born on Aug. 29, 1930, to Uichi Sato and Kiyo Shosen Sato in Osako, Japan who made their home in Tokuyama, Japan. She married Ralph Mack in Tokyo in 1957, and they moved to and lived in Minot, North Dakota for many years. She became a citizen in 1979. Chieko and Ralph moved to the Grays Harbor area in 1991. She enjoyed painting, gardening, sewing and architecture. She was a Renaissance woman and loved inventing.

Chieko is survived by her son Jerry Mack of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; daughter Diana Thompson of Aberdeen, Washington; sister Eiko Alby of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; 5 grandchildren: Alana Parker of Mesa, Arizona, Ryan Thompson of Seattle, Washington, Kari Doyle of St. Augustine, Florida, Kathy Licha of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Kyle Mack of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; six great-grandchildren: Zachary, Tyler, Bryson, and Brady Parker of Mesa, Arizona and Addison and Kilian Doyle of St. Augustine, Florida, and niece Linda Lockwood and her children Skylar, Riley and Donny of St. Paul, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, and her brother Tadashi.
