Betty M. Scheuer, 94, a lifetime resident of the Harbor, died at Pacific Care Center, Hoquiam, Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016.

Betty M. Scheuer, 94, a lifetime resident of the Harbor, died at Pacific Care Center, Hoquiam, on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016. Betty was born in Aberdeen, March 15, 1922, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Robertson) Fredericks.

She grew up in Wishkah Valley and attended schools there. She married Walter C. “Buster” Scheuer in Aberdeen, April 24, 1939. They had lived in Bandon, Ore., for a couple of years before returning to the Harbor. Betty had worked as a store clerk and for Sears in the downtown store, where the Salvation Army Store is now, for 28 years, retiring in the mid-1970s.

Betty enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Her husband, Walter, died here in 1996. She is survived by two sons: Lonnie and wife Ellen, Aberdeen and Ken, Hoquiam; a brother: Charles Fredericks, Mill Creek, Was; and also six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Albert and Frank Fredericks, preceded her in death.

A private inurnment will take place with Walter in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
