Amiel ‘Bud’ Lewis Wild Jr.

Family man and avid outdoorsman, Amiel “Bud” Lewis Wild Jr. passed away on April 22, 2022 in Portland.

Family man and avid outdoorsman, Amiel “Bud” Lewis Wild Jr. passed away on April 22, 2022 at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

Bud was born on May 28, 1946, to parents Amiel and Marion (Fulton) Wild Sr. He was born and raised in Raymond, Washington. Upon graduating from Raymond High School in 1965, Bud attended Grays Harbor College where he met the love of his life Lonnell “Lonnie” Saari.

He joined the Navy for a short time in May of 1967, and then Bud and Lonnie were married on June 30, 1967 at Grayland Twin Harbors Lutheran Church.

In December of 1967, the couple moved to the Wishkah Valley and started a family where they would have three daughters: Meri, Melissa and Michelle.

While Bud enjoyed family life, he worked as a forester with Weyerhaeuser until 1974, was the forest lands manager with the City of Montesano until 1987, and for the next seven years he was self employed in the timber industry. In 1994 he started a new career with Kaufman Scroggs Furniture in delivery and repair, and then was promoted to warehouse manager until retirement in 2008. In 1991, Bud and Lonnie moved from Wishkah valley to Aberdeen (for a short time), and then on to Cosmopolis where he enjoyed the finer things in life.

He was a member of the Aberdeen Eagles, Montesano Lions Club and the Mud Puddlers Camp Club. Bud was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed fishing, camping, clam digging, hunting, woodworking, gardening and bird watching. For many years Bud also enjoyed bowling.

Bud is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lonnie Wild; his daughter, Meri (Darrell) Johnston of Kalama, Washington; daughter, Melissa (Danny) Watkins of Ocosta, Washington; eight grandchildren: Amanda (Scott) Neal, Christi (Mike) Sutton, Nicole Watkins (Brent Beede), Brandie Wenger, Ian Embry, Marvin Watkins, Elliott Watkins andAurorah Johnston; and six great-grandchildren.

Bud is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle McEndoo; brother, John “Jack” Wild, and his mother and father.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Aberdeen Senior Center (old Aberdeen Eagles building) located at 208 W. Market St. in Aberdeen.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
