WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act 2014) Youth Services PacMtn Region, serving Pacific, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason and Thurston counties, received an “Excellence Award” for performance during program year 2020.

“There were only 13 awards given nationwide,” said Talent Development Specialist Pattie Goedker. “We were chosen out of 85 programs participating in 33 states. This is an amazing accomplishment.”

According to the press release, WIOA Youth Services met four of six yearly goals even during COVID. Goals are in categories: enrollment, work experiences, credentials, measurable skills gains, workshops; and degrees and certifications

“These are some huge numbers especially during Covid,” said Goedker. “We have worked hard as a team to serve individuals in our 5-county region. We are making a difference in the lives of young adults from 14 to 24 years old.”
