Two Aberdeen men killed in Wynoochee River Bridge crash

Two Aberdeen residents were killed Wednesday evening in a three-vehicle crash on the Wynoochee River Bridge west of Montesano.

According to the State Patrol, a Ford F-250 pickup pulling a trailer was eastbound on State Route 12 at the bridge when the trailer fishtailed into the westbound lanes.

Two vehicles heading westbound on the bridge were struck by the trailer. All three vehicles came to rest in the westbound lanes.

Both westbound drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. The Washington State Patrol identified them as Jesse I. Rosenzweig, 41, and Angel Cerda-Galeana, 33.

A passenger in the vehicle driven by Cerda-Galeana, a 51-year-old Aberdeen man, also suffered injuries and was transported to Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital in Aberdeen.

A passenger in the pickup, a 26-year-old Longview woman, was injured and transported to Community Hospital. According to the State Patrol, the driver of the pickup, a 29-year-old Longview woman, and a passenger, a 46-year-old Longview man, were not injured.

The wreck occurred around 5:53 p.m. The roadway was fully blocked as of 6 p.m. A detour was put in place from Aldergrove Drive in the west to Devonshire Road in Montesano. A 7:16 p.m. Grays Harbor Fire District 2 reported that vehicles were driving through the detour and creating a hazard at the scene and through Central Park. Drivers were directed to take State Route 107 around the crash site.

The roadway was closed for more than 5 1/2 hours. The state Department of Transportation reported the roadway reopened shortly before midnight.

The State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
