Tips on tipping your newspaper carrier

Remember when your newspaper carrier knocked on the door once a month and collected? These days, most folks pay by mail or the payment comes out of their credit card account, and they might rarely see their carrier.

Recently, a reader mentioned that he didn’t know how to tip his carrier anymore. The fact is, it’s pretty easy.

• If you get a bill in the mail and mail in your payment or drop it at the office, there’s a line right on the statement for you to add a tip if you choose.

• If you are an EZ Pay customer, call 360-532-4000 and we’ll help you.

• If you have any trouble or questions, call us at 360-532-4000.

Carriers often work in bad conditions and at inconvenient hours. They play a critical part in getting local journalism where it needs to go. Their service is greatly appreciated by those of us at the newspaper and, we hope, by our readers as well.
