A driver ran a stop sign, striking another car

Three people were taken to the hospital after being involved in a car crash near Copalis Beach on Sunday evening.

The crash, which was reported just after 9 p.m., occurred when a vehicle driven by a 33-year-old Ocean Shores woman ran a stop sign, striking the second vehicle which was northbound on State Route 109, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 32-year-old Aberdeen resident and two children, ages 13 and 15, were transported following the crash, according to the report.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be involved, according to the report. Charges are pending against the driver as the investigation by the state patrol continues, according to the report. Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
