State Route 109 wreck sends one to the hospital

A two-car crash on State Route 109 east of Hogan’s Corner sent a 50-year-old Shelton woman to the hospital on Sept 15.

A Washington State Patrol report said the Shelton woman was northbound near mile post 14 in a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo shortly after 12:30 p.m., following a 50-year-old Hoquiam woman driving a 2016 Volvo Xc90 SUV. The Hoquiam woman slowed for turning traffic ahead, but the Shelton woman did not notice the vehicle in front of her had slowed down and rear-ended the Volvo.

The Shelton woman was transported by aid car to Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital in Aberdeen with undisclosed injuries. The Hoquiam woman was not injured, according to the report. Both vehicles were totaled. The accident is under investigation.
