South Bend man faces more felony cases in Aberdeen stalking incident

Three more felony cases have been filed against a man who has repeatedly violated protection orders filed by two alleged victims. He is already wanted on a $500,000 warrant for allegedly stalking a woman across county lines.

Gerardo A. Orozco, 26, is already facing felony counts of violation of a protection order and stalking for allegedly following a woman in Pacific County. He allegedly parked off the roadway of U.S. Highway 101 on Oct. 13 and began following her as she passed him. He reportedly cornered the woman later that day while she was attending a school in Aberdeen and was arrested for violating a protection order.

Orozco now faces new charges for an incident over three months before the case. He allegedly assaulted an individual and then subsequently violated a protection order barring him from going near the person.

According to court documents, the South Bend Police Department responded to the report of an intoxicated person at a residence on June 26 at a residence on First Street.

“I asked [the reporting party] what was going on,” an officer stated in court documents. “I asked [her] to walk over to me to talk to me. [She] walked over to me. I advised that I was recording our contact audio and video. I asked her what was going on. [She] began to say that Orozco and she had been arguing. In the meantime, Orozco began to walk towards the side of the residence. [Raymond Police Department Officer Brittany] Stigall then told me that [an alleged victim] appeared to have been struck on the eye,” the officer added.

Officers learned through interviewing the victim and via Ring camera footage from a neighbor that Orozco had sucker punched an alleged victim. Footage reportedly shows him behind a man and then throwing a punch that struck the alleged victim in the eye.

Orozco was arrested and allegedly gave officers one heck of a fight.

“Orozco was sitting on a piece of log,” an officer stated in court documents. “I grabbed hold of Orozco’s left wrist and arm. I advised him to put his hands behind his back. Orozco tensed up and asked what for. I advised him he was under arrest. Orozco continued to tense up and pull away from me and Officer Stigall. Orozco continued to ask, ‘for what’ and refused to listen to my commands and I told him to put his hands behind his back. Orozco continued to pull away and tried to stand up while I had a hold of his left arm. I advised Orozco that if he continued to resist that I was going to Taser him. Orozco continued to pull away from me and tense up, refusing to allow me to handcuff him. As I had Orozco by the arm, I used my momentum and pushed him off the log, where he fell back and landed on his rear,” the officer added.

With additional help, officers were able to subdue Orozco and eventually — after additional struggles — got him into the back of a patrol vehicle. He was transported to Willapa Harbor Hospital for medical clearing and reportedly kept giving the officers a hard time, including lofting multiple profanities.

The alleged victim was also taken to the hospital, where it was discovered he sustained multiple injuries to his eye including a “corneal laceration.”

According to court documents, on July 31 the SBPD was dispatched to the report of a court order violation involving Orozco. The incident involved him allegedly sending the woman — the same one from the Oct. 13 incident — digital messages in violation of an ongoing protection order.

Orozco reportedly sent the woman messages through email and text message. The number he used to contact the woman was traced back to him. It was also learned that he had called a hospital to inquire about the woman regarding a surgery she had.

No felony charges were immediately filed.

According to court documents, on Aug. 11, the SBPD responded to the report of a court order violation at the location of Orozco’s arrest on June 26. He was located at the residence and contacted by an officer. He had reportedly been there to drop off paperwork to his mother. He was subsequently arrested.
