Shoppes at Riverside evacuated after bomb threat

The Shoppes at Riverside mall in South Aberdeen was evacuated by Aberdeen police and the Washington State Patrol about 4:45 p.m. Monday due to a bomb threat.

The mall was searched by a State Patrol bomb unit along with three bomb sniffing dogs, according to Aberdeen police. A note was recovered as evidence, police said. The scene was cleared at 7:30 p.m. and the mall was expected to open during normal hours on Tuesday.

Police said there are no identifiable suspects at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
