Richrod still trails challenger Rodgers by two votes for Aberdeen council

Most other races have been decided; next Grays Harbor County count scheduled for Friday

Aberdeen City Council incumbent Alan Richrod continues to trail challenger Robert Jerrick Rodgers by two votes in the latest ballot count provided by the Grays Harbor County Auditor Tuesday.

The vote count hasn’t changed since the Nov. 9 tally, 75-73, 50.68 percent in favor of Rodgers. The next count is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday.

In the North River School District Position 2 race, Brian Carbaugh pulled well into the lead against Carolyn Lande after Thursday’s count. The Pacific County vote was tight, 13-12 in favor of Lande, but the latest Grays Harbor vote count widened Carbaugh’s lead dramatically to 63 percent of the vote to 37 percent, 41-24 total between the two counties.

The Cosmopolis School District Director District 1 race is still a tight one, but Tina Miles holds a 256 to 250 vote lead on Barbie Smith as of Tuesday.

The Fire District 17 position 1 race remains as it did at the previous count; Calvin Pierce III leads Bruce Brown 43-42.

According to the auditor’s office, 14,374 ballots have been counted as of Tuesday. With 41,123 registered voters in the county, that makes for a turnout of just under 35 percent.
