Police investigating shot fired in Aberdeen yesterday

No one was injured and there’s no evidence of damage to anything

The Aberdeen Police Department is investigating a report of a gunshot from Monday afternoon.

“At 4:40 yesterday afternoon, a shooting report came out on the 2700 block of Simpson Avenue,” said Cmdr. Steve Timmons of the APD. “The person calling it heard a pop sound and observed juveniles running from the location. One of the juveniles appeared to have a gun.”

One spent .45 casing was found at the scene, Timmons said, but no gunshot injuries or evidence of a gunshot was found. The four juveniles were in dark clothing, and appeared to be between 12 and 16, Timmons said. Detectives have the case now, Timmons said.

“They’re checking cameras and doing follow-ups,” Timmons said.

Police are interested in discovering what the youths are doing with a gun and where they obtained it, Timmons said.
