The outfall of the new Ramer Street pump house would be on the west bank of the Hoquiam River near the existing sewer pump station. The two pumps would feature independent pipes and power sources, and the stormwater outfall will be fitted with a tide gate to prevent high tide events from backing up the system and preventing the drainage of stormwater from the city of Hoquiam. The City is meeting with consultants Thursday to discuss specific aspects of the project, applying for permits for the pump station next week, and plans to begin construction in the early summer.
