Ocean Shores firefighters put down RV fire

They responded to the fire on Friday afternoon

Ocean Shores firefighters responded Friday afternoon to a call about an RV fire threatening multiple structures.

The call, which came in for Canal Drive Northeast just before 2 p.m., saw a rapid response, said Kara McDermott, firefighter and public information officer for the department, in a news release.

“The first arriving engine reported an RV on fire in the driveway of a residence with black smoke and flames coming from the roof,” McDermott said. “Our crews immediately established an attack team to fight the seat of the fire and another to protect the nearest structure.”

Teams knocked down the fire in minutes, terminating firefighting operations by about 2:30 p.m., McDermott said.

No injuries were reported, McDermott said, and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The department thanks the Ocean Shores Police Department and Grays Harbor Communications for their assistance, McDermott said.
