Master Gardeners seek scholarship applicants

The WSU Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties are accepting applications for the 2020 Don Tapio Scholarship.

The WSU Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties are accepting applications for the 2021 Don Tapio Scholarship.

The $1,000 scholarship honors Don Tapio, a longtime WSU Extension educator in Grays Harbor County. It is open to local high school seniors, including alternative and home-schooled students, who intend to pursue an academic major in horticulture, the life sciences or a related field.

The application period opens Feb. 1 runs through May 1.

Applications may be downloaded from the Master Gardener website (www.pnwmg.org), or requested via email (bradbury1285@comcast.net) or by phone 360-495-4086.

Applicants must submit all completed documents to the Grays Harbor County WSU Extension office. The address for drop-off is 32 Elma-McCleary Road, Elma 98541. The mailing address is PO Box 3018, Elma, WA 98541-3018.

The Master Gardener Don Tapio Scholarship Committee will select the recipient in May. All applicants will be notified by mail of the decision.

Scholarship monies will be sent directly to the appropriate college or university cashier’s office in the recipient’s name.
