Legislative District forums kickoff Thursday in Aberdeen

Harborites have an opportunity to find out where candidates running for the 19th and 24th Legislative Districts stand beginning Thursday.

Harborites have an opportunity to find out where candidates running for the 19th and 24th Legislative Districts stand on issues impacting Grays Harbor and Pacific counties at one of two legislative forums held this month.

Incumbent Senator Dean Takko and Sue Kuehl Pederson exchange points of view in the 19th Legislative District Forum Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Aberdeen High School auditorium. Attendees will also hear from candidates Teresa Purcell (D) and Jim Walsh (R), running for Representative Position 1, and incumbent Brian Blake (D) and Jimi O’Hagan (R), running for Representative Position 2.

The 24th Legislative District Forum will take place Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the Little Theater at Hoquiam High School. Candidates running for office include Kevin Van de Wege and Danille Turissini for State Senate, Michael Chapman and George Vrable for Representative Position 1, and Steve Tharinger and John Alger for Representative Position 2.

The forums are free and open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m. both nights. The sessions get under way at 6:30 p.m. and should wrap up by 9 p.m. KXRO-1320 will be live streaming the events for those unable to attend.
