The noticeable police presence on Simpson Avenue Friday afternoon was part of a high-risk, search warrant operation during a drug arrest, according to Aberdeen Police Detective Sgt. Darrin King.
“The Grays Harbor Drug Task Force, with assistance of the Aberdeen Regional Crisis Response Unit and the Aberdeen and Hoquiam Police Departments, served a narcotics search warrant in the 3000 block of Simpson Avenue in Hoquiam,” said King. “A 41-year-old male Hoquiam resident was arrested” as part of the investigation.
King said a 25-year-old Hoquiam resident was also located at the home and arrested on an unrelated warrant. A 15-year-old female runaway from Oregon was also located at the residence and turned over to Child Protective Services.
“The Aberdeen Regional Crisis Response Unit was utilized due to the criminal history and intelligence of the 41-year-old male that was the focus of the investigation,” said King.
